Bangalore 24april2026*Karnataka unanimously condemns the attempt to murder democracy in Bengal*.

*Slogans of тАЬWe are with you, we are with you тАУ we stand with BengalтАЭ echoed across the Solidarity Convention held in Bangalore on April 23rd.*

*The Convention saw the participation of all parties in Karnataka except BJPтАУJDS, along with a broad cross section of peopleтАЩs organisations united on this cause.*

*The Declaration put out says the SIR process should not be allowed to continue in Karnataka until the irregularities seen so far are reviewed and the Supreme Court proceedings are concluded.*

*This broad unity inspired hope тАУ a new turn for the anti-SIR movement in Karnataka.*

Dear comrades and friends,

As we stand witness to 3.4 million people in Bengal crying out, тАЬWe are alive, our votes have been wrongly deleted, let us vote or die,тАЭ we cannot remain silent. As voters are being told by constitutional institutions, тАЬYou can vote in the next election,тАЭ Karnataka strongly condemn this deliberate disregard. We declare that we will not allow SIR to be implemented in Karnataka in its current form.

With this intention, a decision was taken five days ago in the meeting of the тАЬCoalition of anti-SIR peopleтАЩs organisations and secular partiesтАЭ to hold a protest convention on the same day as voting in Bengal (April 23). Although decided at short notice it was felt as a crucial decision. The result was astonishing! Every organisation, every party leader, and dignitary who received the message responded wholeheartedly, тАЬWe will definitely be there.тАЭ In fact, many expressed disappointment that they were not informed earlier (apologies for that oversight due to the hurried decision).

As promised, everyone attended the convention. Those who couldnтАЩt conveyed their constraints and expressed solidarity, while encouraging us to continue the struggle collectively. Everyone on the stage behaved with maturity, did not complain even if they didnтАЩt get a chance to speak, and those who did speak gave concise speeches. There was an air of unity among us all.

*Faridul Islam,* a sincere and deeply concerned citizen, travelled from Bengal, to convey in the most touching way deep ideas. In a short time, he explained the political situation in Bengal and the suffering of the people. He appealed, тАЬDo not allow SIR to enter Karnataka at allтАж once it enters, it will be difficult to stop the destruction it bringsтАЭ. He made us all reflect about our next steps.

We must remember and salute the social media youth team who spread the message across Karnataka in such a short time; the folk artists who added color to the Convention; the women drummers who made the atmosphere soar and the slogans roar, and; the comrades who rushed from various districts of the state to be there. Our strength and spirit only heightened with all their contributions.

May this bond among us continue. May it grow stronger, and spread wider. Heartfelt salutations to all comrades.

*Finally, one last point of satisfaction. It is true that at least 7 million people have been removed from the voter list in Bengal, which is a grave injustice by BJP. But this aggressive move has angered Bengal. Bengali identity has taken this as an insult and reacted with outrage. In a move to reclaim what was lost, a record 92% voter turnout was seen yesterday in the first phase of elections. There appears to be an anti-BJP swing. Now it remains to be seen whether BJP will accept this defeat or resort to deceitful tactics to capture Bengal, possibly leading to a rebellion on May 4. Overall, BJP seems to be facing a situation of тАЬnothing gained, much lost.тАЭ*

Congratulations to everyone in making it a successful Convention.

*Namaskar, Jai Bhim, Lal Salaam, Salaam Alaikum*. ЁЯдЭтЬКЁЯП╜ЁЯЩПЁЯП╛тЭдя╕П
