Respected Friends,
An unprecedented injustice is taking place in India’s democratic system on April 23. In West Bengal, elections are being held by taking away the voting rights of more than half a crore people. The Supreme Court is acting as if it is ‘whipping in words – being an accomplice in deeds’. This is a knife in the chests of all democracy lovers.
The situation that has come to Bengal will come to Karnataka tomorrow too. Already, the voting rights of 6.5 crore people in 13 states have been revoked. Sheikh Faridul Islam of Vote Adhikar Manch, who has lost his own vote and on behalf of the victims of Bengal who have lost their right to vote, will come as a first-hand witness and unfold the story of Bengal.
